St. Clare Waste Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project

Project Overview:

The St. Clare Waste Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project aimed to restore the functionality and efficiency of the existing wastewater treatment system at the St. Clare Children’s Home.

Project Background:

The original treatment plant has been operational for ten years. Over time, wear and tear have caused leakages in the treatment channels, damage to the wetland walls, and deterioration of the waste pipes. This compromised the plant’s effectiveness and capacity to treat wastewater.

Project scope:

• Assessment: Conducted a comprehensive evaluation to identify the most effective water engineering solutions alongside our project partners BBM.

Rehabilitation Works:

• Repair leaks in existing treatment channels.
• Restore and reinforce the walls of the plant wetlands.
• Rejuvenate the wetland ecosystem for optimal wastewater treatment.
• Install new waste pipes leading to and from the wetlands for efficient flow.
• Replace and extend water pipes within the plant for improved functionality.

Project Impact:

• Improved wastewater treatment efficiency, ensuring cleaner water is released back into the environment.
• Reduced water waste and improved overall water management at the St. Clare Children’s Home.
• Creation of a more sustainable water cycle through the reuse of treated water.
• Conversion of wastewater treatment byproducts into usable materials like manure for potential agricultural applications.
